Friederike Hofmann was born and raised in Berlin. Her influences include the works of Mitgutsch, Sendak, and Sasek, as well as the street art of her hometown and comics of all sorts. She recognized at an early age her passion for drawing, illustration and script. She graduated in 2000 from the Lette Verein. After spending several years working for agencies in Berlin and Vienna, Hofmann decided in 2007 to strike out on her own. She now maintains an office in Vienna, but can still be encountered in the Austrian capital, where she often travels to collaborate with various clients.
