Brown Bag Films 2D Animation Studio in Manchester is recruiting for the position of LAYOUT SUPERVISOR
Working in a busy creative environment, the successful candidate will work on a new, high profile, pre-school series for a global children’s channel.
The layouts are being created in Adobe Photoshop.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Layout Supervisor will work within the Art Dept, creating broadcast quality background layouts in Adobe Photoshop that are set up for action and character placement in 2D space.
Complete a background breakdown from locked animatic to inform the team of re-use and perform a continuity check.
The Layout Supervisor will be supervising a team of Layout Artists to ensure that quality and deadlines are met. The right candidate will be responsible for briefing the team, communicating notes and making sure they are implemented.
Providing written feedback and drawovers when needed on vector backgrounds.
Responsible for naming conventions as advised by production and updating folders with the most up-to-date information.
Work closely with the Episodic Directors and Art Director to gain a good understanding of visual storytelling for layout and composition.
The right Candidates will demonstrate strong layout, environment design skills, in depth knowledge of perspective, composition and colour.
The right Candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be able to relay information clearly and effectively.
Must have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and quality.
Candidates will have credited experience of working as a Layout Artist or Background Artist on a broadcast series (please provide details)
Must be able to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure.
Must be open to direction and able to embrace change.
Experience in Photoshop essential.
Experience working with vector based art preferable but not essential
Experience working with Shotgun preferable but not essential.
